Below are some common questions I receive from my clients. If you would like to know more, please feel free to send me a message or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
General Questions & Pricing
As a one-woman shop, I am able to keep my business costs low which translates in lower prices to my clients. Since each project has a unique scope and requirements, I don’t have a set price for my services. A quote will be provided after I get familiar with your business and your request. A typical project starts from $700 for a single page site and $1500 for an e-commerce site.
I accept credit cards, checks, as well as Stripe payments.
The answer depends on how complex you need your website to be. Once I receive all the content files from you and we have agreed on the concept, it typically takes 2—5 weeks to create a website.
To start working on your site, I require a signed contract and a 50% deposit. In addition, I will need to receive ALL materials, including images and copy (text). If you prefer, I can provide the images and the copy as an add-on package. I will send you a detailed list of what is required to start work in my Proposal.
If I am unable to provide services due to illness or other unforseen circumstances, I will refund 100% of your payment. If you decide to cancel a project before it is completed, the deposit is forfeited. Since you have an opportunity to review the site and provide feedback prior to launch, I make sure the final product meets your expectations. I do not refund payments for completed work.
As a former project manager, I am very meticulous about project organization and communication. I use project management software to keep track of all details and communicate with you regularly while I work on your website.
Website Development Questions
Site maintenance means the database and files are updated, protected from suspicious activity, and optimized for speed and performance. It is absolutely necessary to ensure your site's safety, just like with any software. I will teach you how you can maintain your website yourself, or you can purchase a website maintenance package and let me take care of this.
Domain name is your website's address, for example, www.mysmallbiz.com. Hosting is a service that you pay for in order to make your website live. You need to purchase both before I can start working on your site. Alternatively, I can set up your domain and hosting as an add-on service. I use Siteground (affiliate link) for my hosting needs and recommend it to my clients.
Yes, all sites I create allow you to make updates as needed and I will show you how it can be done. I also offer content management services, if you'd rather outsource it to me.
It depends on several factors. I will design your site with SEO (Search Engine Optimization, or "searchability" of the site) in mind and will install social sharing buttons. I will also make recommendations on how you can promote your site online. Please keep in mind that it takes time and effort to grow visitor traffic to your site. I invite you to subscribe to my blog to read business growth related tips and resources.
At the moment I only offer WordPress design. I can convert your existing site from Wix/Weebly/Squarespace to WordPress.
